Introducing the new Destination Research API

We are excited to announce the launch of our Destination Research API, a new pull API that brings together Riskline’s country-based travel risk intelligence in one place.

The Destination Research API contains the same content as the Country Report API, with the following enhancements:

• New report sections: destination facts, money, electricity, visa requirements
• Improved existing sections: expanded crime report and new, separate kidnapping and ransom report
• Introduction of assessments for many of the report sections to complement existing Risk Levels
• Addition of dates to understand when each report section was last updated

This pull API provides a more structured content instead of big blocks of text, opening up possibilities to build anything as simple as selecting a few country-based data points, such as population, time zones or currency, or creating an entire database of destination reports.

Country summaries and risk levels are available both within this API, as well as separate APIs now in a structured JSON format (instead of HTML) that your system can call and retrieve at any time.

We have also made a few updates to the JSON structure of the Destination Research API to further improve and standardise the format for easier integration and future scalability. These will be live from 17 November 2025.
