Structural changes for Risk Levels for COVID-19
Riskline will offer a 'Security Risk Level', in addition to 'Overall' and 'COVID-19' Risk Levels so that users can evaluate other risks at a destination besides those associated with COVID-19.
Other changes to our products as part of this:
- The Overall Risk Level for country and territory destinations will be assessed by taking the higher of the Security Risk Level or the COVID-19 Risk Level. For example, if Afghanistan has a Medium COVID-19 RL and an Extreme Security RL, the Overall Risk Level would be Extreme; if Spain has a Medium COVID-19 RL and a Moderate Security RL, the Overall Risk Level would be Medium.
- The Overall, Security and COVID-19 Risk Levels will be displayed on the destination Summary page.
- There will be a filter for the Global Map to switch between Overall, Security and COVID-19 Risk Level views.
- COVID-19 information (including COVID-19 risk levels) will be included in the health section of destination reports.
The changes to associated APIs:
a. Summary v2.1: addition of html text for the Security Risk Level to the “summary” field
b. new Summary v3: addition of new fields for “security risk level” and “covid-19 risk level”
c. new Risk Level v3: addition of new fields for “security risk level” and “covid-19 risk level”
The update will allow Riskline to continue to assess risk by taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic while also allowing our users to better understand the other risks at a destination.
We will remain prepared to respond to a potential worsening of COVID-19 in the future but will now take into account the gradual reduction in the perceived risk of the disease, especially for fully vaccinated travellers.
